Blurry Lights
Blurry Lights is an alternative bar and restaurant in downtown Nicosia, designed by Kivo Design House as a complete transformation of a former clothing store. The space was stripped back and rebuilt from the ground up, turning a retail unit into a characterful hospitality destination with a personality all of its own.
The 112 square metre interior brings together the bar and dining room, an open kitchen and a take away area, extending onto a 40 square metre veranda. Kivo also designed the facade, giving the venue a bold, recognisable street presence.
The style is deliberately alternative and expressive. Micro cement covers the walls in a raw, tactile finish, set against a striking red floor, with terrazzo grounding other areas of the space. Glass blocks shape the bar itself, catching and diffusing the light, while red steelwork and a vintage mirror add edge and a sense of history. Distinctive, atmospheric lighting ties it all together, giving the room its blurred, after dark glow.
The result is a hospitality interior with real attitude, a downtown Nicosia venue where materials, colour and light create an experience rather than just a backdrop.
